Downloading a New Ringtone

July 26, 2008

When you get a new cell phone or every six months or so you have to get a new ringtone. After a while the old tone gets to you as it gets played out. Sure, you can make your own but it can take a long time and you need software to upload the music file to your cell. It’s so much easier just to download a ringtone from a website. Currently here are the top ringtones by artist:1. All Summer Long by Kid Rock
2. I Kissed A Girl by Katy Perry
3. Forever by Chris Brown
4. Why So Serious? by The Dark Knight (Batman Movie)
5. Lollipop by Little Wayne

Last year mosquito tone was all the rage. It uses high-frequencies only teenagers can hear and was in the news when a UK inventor patented the mosquito device to stop kids from congregating in shop fronts or bus depots. The Mosquito ringtone and security device both take advantage of the tendency of the human ear to become progressively weaker at hearing high frequencies as we get older.

If you have an iPhone you are lucky that with Apple’s software you can make your own ringtones from any song. You even get to choose which part of the song you want for your ringtone which is great flexibility. Don’t even bother going to At&t and trying to download a tone because it won’t work. You have to specifically use the ringtone maker that comes with iTunes.
